From the 1st of July 2006 Lithuanian men can take paternity leave and get a benefit of 100 percent of the salary from the child birth until the child is one month old. The benefit is paid to fathers who are insured under the Law on Maternity and Sickness in case they decide to take the 1-month’s leave. The benefit is paid from the budget of “Sodra” (State Social Insurance Fund).
